Our Spacer Scuba Fabric is soft and thick with a light knitted spacer between the knits. The fabric is a delight to work with and to wear, and is perfect for lining bras and bralettes when you want light padding.
The spacer fabric is thinner than foam and it does has some mechanical give. Therefore, it is quite desirable where a non-bulky liner is needed. Try this fabric to make uneven breast sizes look more symmetrical.
What is Spacer Fabric anyway? Spacer Fabric is a 3D fabric, made with 2 layers of fabric, knitted together with a microfilament yarn. This differs from a regular foam, which has an inner foam layer, fused or glued to the outer fabric. The spacer fabric is actually knitted together, resulting in a very breathable inner layer, that allows for ventilation. It is thinner, and has more stretch and drape than our laminated foam, and is also a wider fabric
100% Polyester 58-60 inches (145-150 cm) wide.
Our customers use this fabric to make lightly padded undergarments, such as sport bras, cosy winter bras or bralettes, or binders. They also use it as a lightweight foam lining in a bra cup, or to disguise slightly uneven breast sizes, without the look of a heavy padding. The fabric is slightly cushioned and breathes well.
