Big news!

Posted by

There have been a few changes at SewSquirrel recently. The lovely Sarah has decided to step away from the business and let me - Georgina - take over. I'm super excited, and a little bit scared about the prospect of running this business, but so far I'm having heaps of fun.

Please bear with me in this period of transition. If anything goes awry, or I can help you in any way, don't hesitate to contact me. I'll do my best to get you sorted!

In the meantime, I'm hard at work sourcing some new laces for pretty kits, getting together a new fitting kit with the materials to make three bras (for beginners, or as you fit a new-to-you pattern), and talking to a few designers about stocking their bra patterns.

A few words from Sarah:

Hi, it's Sarah here.

I'm writing to say thank you. SewSquirrel started 5 years ago as a passion project to get the Sewaholic pat
terns in Australia. And wow did you guys get on board!

Now, the most amazing thing has happened. SewSquirrel has grown to the point where sadly, I didn't have the time to do what the business, and you as customers deserve.

However, the sewing community is rad. And a very awesome lady in the Melbourne sewing community is ready to take SewSquirrel and you, to the next level of Bra awesomeness.

I'll still be on social media, as we detangle the shop and I! (The shop Insta handle is @shopsewsquirrel - go check it out!)

So with much joy, I'd like to introduce you to George.

Over time, SewSquirrel has morphed from a shop stocking indie sewing patterns, to concentrating more on bras and lingerie. That's the direction I hope it will continue to go in, and with our relationship with Bra-Makers Supply, I am able to bring you high quality bra and findings kits, as well as patterns and bra-making manuals without the hassle of international shipping. I'm also looking forward to stocking a bigger variety of fabrics, including performance fabrics for swimwear and activewear. Drop me a line if this is something you'd be interested in.

So thank you for your ongoing support. I'm loving designing these new kits, and looking forward to releasing them on a regular basis. I LOVE feedback, and want to hear all about your favourite colours, fabrics and lingerie patterns, so I can help you make ALL THE PRETTY THINGS!

That's all for now, but keep an eye out for our blog that should be up and running soon, and the first of our fitting kits, which should be dropping in a week or two!

Can't wait to see what you make!

Georgina X
